This book includes lots of useful information on the benefits of vegetables and other foods in preventing cancer. They are pro vegetarianism, veganism really, to an extent that I think is excessive, even though I agree with most of what they say. However, they need to take a deeper look at the role of carbohydrates and fat in health, given recent research, in my opinion. They are very down on meat, with good reason, but lump all kinds of meat together, including fish and I believe a more sophisticated treatment of this topic is warranted. Still, I have a great deal of faith in most of their recommendations and just bought twice as many vegetable and fruit products as I normally do.

I am a Board Certified Internist who specializes in Weight Management. This book has good general advice about reducing cancer risk using a vegan diet. Although some people may not be “ready” to adopt a vegan diet, anything close to it would be helpful, especially if one is eating the typical cancer “enhancing” diet of many Americans! My advice to my patients is to reduce calorie-dense processed foods and substitute whole, real foods in or close to their natural state. This works for weight loss and for improving most other chronic medical conditions, including cancer!

Did you ever think what you eat could have a direct correlation to cancer? I never did until I picked up this book. Although you can never be fully safeguarded , read this book and learn what changes you can make as preventative measures against a full range of cancers. There are over 80 recipes to help you get started.
